An East Tennessee hardware store owner decided to express his beliefs following the Supreme Court's ruling allowing same-sex marriage by putting up a sign that reads, "No Gays Allowed."Or, to paraphrase Plessy v. Ferguson:
[Supreme Court opinions are] powerless to eradicate... distinctions based upon [morality], and the attempt to do so can only result in accentuating the difficulties of the present situation. If the civil and political rights of [all persons] be equal, one cannot be inferior to the other civilly or politically. If [some people are] inferior to [others morally], the Constitution of the United States cannot put them upon the same plane.
