Wanted: An Uranium Control Program

Perhaps the best way to control fissile material around the world is to establish a program to manage the mining and storage of such material around the world.  Ideally, the US should pay for their mining and storage in return for pledges that they will be stored in the US and will only be sold to respectable parties who use such material for peaceful purposes.  Alternatively, the US should also consider simply buying up their entire stocks to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.  A combination of foreign aid and some strong-arming by the Defense Department should achieve the desired results.
