Syrian Pound Continues to Plummet

The Syrian currency is reported to have hit a record low this week, trading on the black market for more than 300 pounds to the dollar. The rate was about 50 pounds to the dollar when the uprising against President Bashar Assad began in March 2011.
I think President Assad should agree to a deal with Israel in which Israel will offer military aid such as its intelligence services, air force, and special forces to defeat the rebels.  In exchange, Syria should agree to normalize relations with Israel and temporarily conceding the Golan Heights pending future negotiations.  The Assad family have not controlled that area since 1967.  There is no real loss in temporarily conceding that territory, not to mention the obvious fact that if Assad loses his civil war, he won't get to keep his head, let alone territory.
